Ge.tt
Ge.tt is a file sharing website. It allows users to upload files to the internet of pretty much anything. In a time when the cloud is becoming bigger than we can imagine, ge.tt is keeping up with the pace. Someone is able to upload a large document. While it is uploading they can copy and send the link to the document and a recipient can start downloading it before it is even completed uploading! It is also great because one could tweet or facebook the url very easily thus ensuring mass amounts of viewers to information. The documents will only be in the cloud for 90 days so you don't have to worry about having too much mess either. You can even create an account to see how many people have viewed your uploaded file. It is free and very easy.
Teachers could use this to send out assignments or readings where they did not have access to something similar to Oncourse. I have uploaded a picture taken during prohibition that I like and now everyone can enjoy it as well. I have used it for group projects in other classes and it works like a charm. I origionally heard of it through a teacher this semester in a class where I needed a program that I didn't have on my computer at home. He told me to zip the program into one file and put it on ge.tt so I was able to access it from home. I had never heard of it but was able to fly through the uploading and downloading process very easily. I would recommend it to anyone. There is a video on the websites home page but it doesn't have sound so I recommend watching this YouTube video that is very descriptive.

Emerging Technology
iTunes U is an electronic copy of what is taught in college classrooms made available for students. Colleges and Universities run their own iTunes U and can update their content (ie. video, audio, or documents) like a podcast. Students can download the content through the iTunes store for free or the College or University can make their content private and only allow students attending that university access it on their personal website.
iTunes U can hit close to home here at IUPUI because we have iTunes U here on campus. If you have iTunes already on your computer, which is generally very familiar to students, they can access it easily. By visiting the Indiana University iTunes link you are launched directly to a website where you can be directed to the IU portion of the iTunes store. Once in iTunes there are many categories to choose from. One that is applicable to an education student is an iTunes U called "Advancing Teaching".

blogging
This is truly my first blog. It is easier than I had originally anticipated. What really would be most difficult for myself is to keep a blog updated. I don't know if I would be able to come up with something to say on a steady basis.
